Portable Gas Barbecues Where I Take Mine

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Almost everyone has felt the joy of dining outside when the weather is good. There is just something special about cooking and dining out in the open. It might come from way back in our evolution when our forebears mostly ate outside. I am a keen user of gas grills, and the pleasure I get out of my weber portable gas grill is endless.

I don’t just limit its use to my own backyard but it comes out with me whenever the occasion arises. Our portable can be seen in our family photo albums.

If you already have, or intend to get a portable gas grill, then do not just use it at home.  Will will be losing out on so much more fun. I get so much more out of mine. If you get the right portable grill then it should be lightweight enough to easily carry around with you, and tough enough to handle all the bangs and bashes it gets when thrown around a bit and sometimes even sat on. These are just some of the places you should consider taking your grill to:

Take it with you when you go to friends. It doesn’t matter if they have one of their own, you will find that when they are having a gathering, there is always a call for another. Works great if you have strict vegetarians who do not like their vegetables grilled near meat.

Bring it to the outdoor swimming baths, most now have a picnic area where you can set it up.

Take it to the beach and have a real beach barbecue.

Take it to the playground, many parks have a cooking and eating area, it’s great if you don’t have a backyard, or your garden is too small for a bigger crowd.

Just throw it in the trunk of your car on a family excursion, pull over when you find a great spot, and start grilling.

Not only do you get to save money, but you get far more fun and at least you know what you are eating and where it has been cooked.

Small Gas Grills – Gas Or Charcoal

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Even though charcoal grills have seen growing popularity in recent years, gas grills are still used more frequently. They are easier to light, easier to control, and they heat up a lot quicker. We have all experienced the frustration of a grill that is not hot enough to cook on. I love the aroma of charcoal cooked food however you can cheat and buy charcoal specially designed for use on a gas grill! So you have the best of both worlds without the hassle and pain of pandering to charcoal. I’m for easy living and when I want to grill or barbecue, I want it to be a pleasant experience, a relaxing experience.

Because of the ease of use, gas grills get used a lot more often too. So they have more fun! Gas users are more relaxed and chilled to be around during a barbecue! That is certainly true of me. Before gas grills became really affordable and available in cute small sizes, I owned a charcoal one. My barbecues were fraught and stressful events. When you have gas you can just get started straight away and get cooking within minutes.

A lot of cooks mainly grill up different meat and fish, I use it for grilling my veg too. Just stick it on a skewer, other times what I do is I wrap it in foil with a tiny bit of water. It is like steaming it on the grill. Very very tasty. If you have not tried it, give it a go.

Maintain your grill well, always keep it clean and cover it when it is not in use. By following these steps you will get years of fun and use out of your grill.
