My First Small Sodastream Adventure
Saturday, February 4th, 2012A few months ago I got a new contraption for my kitchen. I'm extremely excited about the acquisition since it’s meant to be something that may reduce my enviromental footprint as well as offer a unique twist on a typical beverage for my entire family. It was a SodaStream home soda making machine. The model I got was the Sodastream Genesis. What an amazing small soda maker!
One of the first thoughts I had when shopping for this machine was that I was hoping to replace our reliance on buying soda at the store. With 5 peope continually drinking a glass here and a glass there, we were going thru a lot of soda. Every time I went to the store I might bring back home a few bottles. This truly needed to stop – both for my reason and my pocket book!
I had heard about the Sodastream soda maker thru a mate and made a decision to try it out. I did a Web search and found a great site that offered me a Sodastream discount. I saved over $50 on my Genesis all because I took a couple of minutes to do an internet search! What a great deal!
After getting the SodaStream soda maker sent to my home, I opened it up and instantly spotted how tiny it was. I had expected it to take up a lot of counter space. Not my Genesis! I was easily able to set it up and slide it under the shelving in my kitchen. It’s just a bit larger than my toaster!
Once it was set up, I immediately inserted the CO2 canister, filled one of the bottles with water and made my first heap of soda. I selected the Dr. Pepper style flavor since that is what my folks drinks all the time. It became so straightforward, I had a bottle in about fifteen seconds!
At this point, I needed to test this out on my folks. I filled a glass with ice and poured some of my new soda into it and then called my husband into the room after hiding the machine. I offered him a drink and waited. He took a sip, thanked me and strode out of the room! He didn't even notice a difference!
I quickly called him back in to show him my new little machine. He was shocked and happy that we could now mix our own soda whenever we want. Our youngsters are just as excited. We spend less and have less waste. I tell all our our mates about it, too. I am very happy with my purchase!
