Outdoor Grills All About Picking Your Small Grill

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

If you are considering purchasing a small grill, there are a few things to consider.

One of the main reasons small grills are bought is because the space they will be cooking in is limited. So the obvious first thing to do is get an idea of the measurements of that area.

Small grills are commonly used on an outdoor patio, veranda’s, small balconies, and courtyard gardens.  So check out that space, allow extra room to move around the grill and then you will have a fair idea of what size you need to be looking at.

Another cool feature of small grills is they are usually easily transportable. I say easily but that is only if they fit into your car.  You need to know the measurements of that space too.

Finally you should consider the storage space you have available for your grill when not in use. No, you really shouldn’t leave it outside 12 months of the year.

When you have purchased your gas grill, make sure to buy a cover for it. This will extend the life greatly, {as it will keep it from the elements and extremes of temperatures}  It really is worth it.

First thing to do having purchased your small gas grill is log it with the manufacturer, there are a few reasons you should do this.

1. You invoke your 1 year guarantee.  So many people forget to do this, and yes sometimes things can go wrong with them.

2. The supplier will mail you with product updates and news.

3. But the main reason to register, is in case there is a call back on your grill or any part of it.  This applies to all grills, little, big, cheap, costly.  This doesn’t happen a lot but can occur with anything you buy.

Don’t think of re calls as negative, in fact they are good and show that the supplier listens to complaints and issues with their merchandise, and is willing to take the conscientious step of doing something about it.  So look at re-calls as a good thing, and you will of course always get a full refund or a brand new replacement.

Now the tedious bit is that you do have to clean it after use. That is, if you really want to get value out of your grill. Keep it well maintained and you will get many years out of your grill. Oh yes, and be sure to use the cover, they do not work very well when left in the box.

What price will a small grill cost?  You don’t have to pay a lot for your grill. The most important thing is that it suits you, and that it fits the space intended for it.

Lastly remember a small gas grill doesn’t have to be for lovely weather only.  You can have great fun all wrapped up on a freezing winter day, sitting outside sampling wholesome grilled food on even the smallest of grills.

Small Gas Grills – Gas Or Charcoal

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Even though charcoal grills have seen growing popularity in recent years, gas grills are still used more frequently. They are easier to light, easier to control, and they heat up a lot quicker. We have all experienced the frustration of a grill that is not hot enough to cook on. I love the aroma of charcoal cooked food however you can cheat and buy charcoal specially designed for use on a gas grill! So you have the best of both worlds without the hassle and pain of pandering to charcoal. I’m for easy living and when I want to grill or barbecue, I want it to be a pleasant experience, a relaxing experience.

Because of the ease of use, gas grills get used a lot more often too. So they have more fun! Gas users are more relaxed and chilled to be around during a barbecue! That is certainly true of me. Before gas grills became really affordable and available in cute small sizes, I owned a charcoal one. My barbecues were fraught and stressful events. When you have gas you can just get started straight away and get cooking within minutes.

A lot of cooks mainly grill up different meat and fish, I use it for grilling my veg too. Just stick it on a skewer, other times what I do is I wrap it in foil with a tiny bit of water. It is like steaming it on the grill. Very very tasty. If you have not tried it, give it a go.

Maintain your grill well, always keep it clean and cover it when it is not in use. By following these steps you will get years of fun and use out of your grill.
